Generating QR codes

With Eledo QR code component you can easily generate and print a custom QR code into your PDF. The component requires a text value which you can provide directly or use data expression functions to compose one directly in your Eledo template.

QR Code Content Types

QR codes can encode various types of content, making them versatile tools for different applications. Here are the most common QR code content types and their uses:

URL (Website Links)

Encodes a web address (e.g., https://example.com) that redirects users to a webpage when scanned.

Common use cases: Marketing campaigns, product pages, event registrations.

Text

Encodes plain text, which can be displayed directly on the user’s device upon scanning.

Common use cases: Displaying short messages, instructions, or codes.

Example: Welcome to our store!

Phone Number

Encodes a phone number to initiate a call when scanned.

Common use cases: Customer support lines, sales inquiries.

Example: tel:+1234567890

Email Address

Encodes an email address, optionally with a predefined subject and body. Scanning it opens the user’s email app.

Common use cases: Feedback collection, support requests.

Example: mailto:support@example.com?subject=Feedback&body=Hello!

SMS (Text Messages)

Encodes a phone number and a predefined message for sending via SMS.

Common use cases: Promotions, voting, or quick communication.

Wi-Fi Credentials

Encodes a network name (SSID), password, and encryption type, allowing users to connect to Wi-Fi by scanning the code.

Common use cases: Cafes, hotels, public spaces.

vCard (Contact Information)

Encodes a digital business card with name, phone, email, address, and other details, enabling users to save it directly to their contacts.

Location (Geolocation)

Encodes details for an event (e.g., title, date, time, and location), which users can add directly to their calendar.

Social Media Profiles or Content
